Got Questions? We've Got Answers
What is Xkaliber OS in a nutshell?
Xkaliber OS is a user-friendly Linux system built on the super-stable Debian foundation. We pre-configure it
for desktops, laptops, and popular gaming handhelds, making powerful
features like local AI accessible without the usual hassle.
Is it truly beginner-friendly?
Absolutely. We simplify installation, handle driver setups, and provide easy ways to get software (like the
Pop!_Shop). Our goal is to make Linux powerful *and* approachable, even
if you're new to it.
Can I really run Windows or Android apps?
Yes! Run many Windows apps easily using integrated tools (we recommend Bottles!). Access a world of Android
apps, including the Google Play Store (optional), through our
streamlined Waydroid integration.
What hardware does it support?
It's great on standard desktops/laptops (with excellent NVIDIA & AMD support) and shines on handhelds
like the Steam Deck, Legion Go, ROG Ally, MSI Claw, and more, often with
device-specific optimizations.
Why not just use standard Debian?
We *are* Debian at the core, but we save you time and frustration. We add essential drivers, handy tools
(like Steam, AI setup), hardware tuning, and UI polish, delivering a
ready-to-use system right out of the box. It's Debian, conveniently enhanced.
How can I get Xkaliber?
